COVID-19 Protocol Reminders for Students in Classes

 Dear Families -

We are taking every measure possible to ensure the health and safety of your children. While open, our core promise to deliver fun and smiles in a safe and nurturing environment remain the same. However you undoubtedly noticed several procedural changes in accordance with the CDC and the State of Maryland that we have developed to ensure everyone's health and safety in our facility. Please review our policies below to re-familiarize yourself with these procedures.

  • Everyone over the age of two (2) years old must wear a face covering.

  • All gymnasts are required to bring their own water bottle as the fountains are closed.

  • Health Screening and Touchless Temperature Check: All staff, guests and students will be monitored upon arrival for signs & symptoms of COVID-19. No students or staff with COVID-19 symptoms will be allowed in the building.

  • No students or staff allowed who have been in contact with someone who is showing symptoms of COVID-19 or who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days will be allowed in the building.

  • Because we are limiting capacity in the building, at busier times parents will not be permitted in the facility to observe classes. Silver Stars has installed Spot TV, the industry’s #1 camera system and streaming app uniquely designed to share live, secure remote viewing, for use free of charge. (Silver Spring location only)

  • Correspondence between coaches and parents will remain primarily via email while we maintain our safety protocols to limit the amount of people in the gym in an effort to provide the safest environment possible.

  • Class times have been staggered and multiple entrances/exits have been utilized to reduce the amount of people in our lobby. Signs will be posted outside to indicate which door to enter/exit through.

  • All gymnasts, coaches and parents participating in preschool classes will utilize hand sanitizer provided by Silver Stars throughout the class.

  • Silver Stars has implemented enhanced deep cleaning procedures using a sanitization, deodorizing and cleaning product called Tersano. Tersano kills germs in 30 seconds to 1 minute and is 100% chemical and toxic free. This means we can keep the gym open while we continuously clean throughout the day.

  • Signs are posted on how to stop the spread of COVID-19 and on how to properly wash hands. While gymnasts will also be required to properly wash hands after bathroom use, parents are expected to go over these policies with their children prior to the start of class. Please explain the importance of following rules: social distancing, limited contact with other gymnasts and listening to instructors. Parents are encouraged to educate their children to use the appropriate precautionary measures to stop the spread of germs. (i.e. Hand washing, social distancing, cough/sneeze etiquette, personal hygiene, etc.).

  • Silver Stars will email parents to keep them informed of any COVID-19 related updates.

  • In the event that a staff member or student exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 or is exposed to someone with COVID-19, Silver Stars will follow the guidelines provided by the CDC and consult with our local and state health departments regarding reports of COVID-19 exposure. As we are committed to the health and safety of all of our families, our response may include deep cleaning, a temporary suspension of operations, or other actions as determined by the type of exposure. We will communicate with families and staff in accordance with recommendations from licensing agencies and health departments.
